The average City Livery Company has over 220 members. However many Livery Companies have upwards of 600 members.
The Worshipful Company of Masons has deliberately kept its membership small - to 175.
Given our size the members of the Livery have a much greater opportunity to have a direct input into the Company’s aims than would be the case in many other Livery Companies. They have the opportunity to contribute to the committees, which run our financial, technical and administrative affairs.
Progression within the company is facilitated by our limited membership.
The Company has a very specific mission to -
"encourage the use of natural stone".
