Charitable Criteria
The objectives of the Masons Company Charitable Trust are:
- The relief of poverty
- The advancement of education
- The advancement of religion
- Such other legally charitable purposes as the Trustees shall from time to time by deed executed with their unanimous consent declare.
The Trustees take into consideration a number of factors when reviewing application
for its charitable support. This is a relatively new charity and therefore the
Trustees have to be very selective.
Part of its funds go to boost the money available to apprentices and students in the stone industry. It also, generally supports The Lord Mayor’s Charity each year.
Unless a request for financial support relates to education and training of stonemasons, conservation of our stone heritage or the craft of stonemasonry then the application is unlikely to succeed.
